It's so simple for what I need, plus it doubles as an image viewer! set a centered bg (what I normally do): feh --bg-center image.png set a scaled bg (for higher-res than screen wallpapers): feh --bg-scale image.png Then, in .xinitrc: eval `cat .fehbg` Works like a charm! I don’t understand why you didn’t mention feh! It’s so simple for what I need, plus it doubles as an image viewer!
